Tropical Bedroom 

 

This mural was painted for a very special client, who also created for me this wonderful website. His bed was quite grand and he wanted to create a trompe l’oeil effect bring the bed somehow into the mural itself. Once the bed was finally pushed back into place it looked as though it was actually attached to the terrace.

 TROMPE L' OEIL - (pronounced - trump loy) is a French phrase, which means, "to fool the eye". This is a technique used by artists to trick the viewer into believing that they are seeing something three-dimensional before them.
What truly fools the viewer is the artist's use of shadows which, if done correctly, will have you taking a second glance to see if the object is real or just a painted illusion.
